
Facts and Steps of Most Hiring Processes

Ah, those hiring processes, a refreshing and sometimes stressful time of growth and expansion, or maybe you’re just replacing that guy whose grandma died 5 times in the last two months. Whatever your reason to hire a new employee, you need to know these steps of the hiring process. Seriously, it can make staring at that pile of applications a whole lot more bearable!
Step number one, is identifying the position that you are going to be filling with this new employee. Is it a new department, an expansion of already existing one, or a replacement position? (Seriously, how many grandmothers can that dude have right?)
Step number two, decide what requirements the job should have. Will there be heavy lifting? Is a Bachelor’s degree required? Do they have to like cats? Focus on the important questions and find out what qualification the employee must have to acquire the position.
Step number three, figure out how and where you will advertise the job. Do you want to run a social media campaign? Rent a billboard? How about getting a bi-plane to fly a banner in front of your competitor’s office windows? Whatever gets your message out there, go for it!
Step four, decide who gets a say in hiring employees. There should be some teamwork going on here between the hiring manager, the supervisor, and at times even other employees who actually know what the heck they are doing. Decide who gets to cast the votes, give out the roses,or whichever method you use in your hiring process!
Step five, hire the right employee for the job. This may sound like a pretty straight forward no brainer, but hiring the person who is the best fit in all areas of the position will more than likely result in years of excellent service. Don’t pick the person who wants the least amount of money, or the person with ten degrees, hire the person who fits the position like a glove, who has a good attitude, work ethic, and good references, if applicable. Above all else hire someone who can grow as your company grows. Hire the person with the most potential.
So, that wasn’t that bad, right? Now that you know the five main steps to make the most out of any hiring processes, get out there and find the employee that completes you…well completes your company anyway!
